Like a step into the past, the music of Joe and Diane is a refreshing reminder of the quality and richness of true, traditional country music at it’s finest! Together, they deliver some of the best country music found anywhere today.

For a little more than a year and a half, Joe and Diane have been singing and performing together as Nashville’s newest duet team! They are often referred to as the new “George and Tammy” of Country Music! They both have a rich history in traditional country music and when they sing together magic is heard.

Joe Wade Smith is originally from West Virginia and was raised in Maryland. His music background started when he was a teenager sitting around at family reunions and get-togethers picking and singing with his uncles and cousins. Singing and playing the guitar became a very important part of his life and he continued as he got older forming bands and playing all around Maryland, West Virginia and Washington. He won several singing competitions through the years in Maryland, with one landing him a spot on The Nashville Network’s “You Can Be A Star”. He decided that Nashville was where he needed to be, so he moved to Tennessee in the beginning of 2013. He performed all around Nashville and surrounding cities drawing in more and more fans with each performance. Joe has a large fan base that includes people from all around the world. His music is played in foreign countries such as Australia, Norway, England, New Zealand and Holland. Joe is also an accomplished songwriter. He has many songs and videos on YouTube. Today, with his warm, deep country voice, Joe continues to be a favorite wherever he performs.

Diane Berry was born into a musical family, The Holman Family. Born in Texas, she grew up in a little town in Arkansas. With her Mom, Dad, sister and brother, The Holman Family had a weekly radio show on Saturday afternoons on KCAB Radio out of Dardanelle, Arkansas. At the age of thirteen, Diane learned to play the guitar and became a member of the family band on stage. Throughout her years in Arkansas, Diane has performed as a solo artist and also with a band. She decided that Nashville was the place to be and moved there in the early ‘80’s. She was a guitar player/singer in one of the shows in the Opryland Park. That fall, Roy Acuff asked her to be his guest on the Grand Ole’ Opry. With the response she received after that performance, Diane worked the Grand Ole’ Opry for twenty eight years with different artists such as: Jeannie Seely, Johnny Russell, Grandpa Jones, Jan Howard, Skeeter Davis, Jim Ed Brown, Charlie Louvin and Johnny Counterfit. Diane also has a large fan base that spans all over the United States and Europe. Her music is played in Australia, England, Holland, Norway and Germany. Diane was once quoted as saying, “I sing all kinds of music….it just all comes out country!” Diane is also an accomplished songwriter. Connie Smith recorded the gospel song “Take My Hand” on her last album that Diane wrote to honor her mother.

Fast forward to TODAY! Joe and Diane knew each other for a few years, having heard each other sing while performing in the same shows. There was a mutual respect and appreciation for each other’s talent. One night, they sat and performed together in a little place called “Sidelines” in Ashland City, Tennessee. Everything just “clicked” and they both felt as if they had been a duet team for many years. One gentleman walked up and asked Joe..”How long have you two been singing together? You two are great!” Joe just smiled and replied…”Oh for just about 40 minutes now!” It just felt right….so, they started booking shows together as a duet team and are seeing wonderful success. They are working on a new album of duets and have already recorded six. The first two took off like rockets! “Would You Love Me” is a tender love song written by Bobby Reed and the second song, “We Never Had It Easy But We Always Had It Good” is also a tenderhearted song about holding on to each other written by Bobby Reed and Anita Stapleton. These first two songs have made it possible for them to be nominated for Vocal Group of the Year for the 2021 Arkansas Country Music Awards and also for Traditional Country Music along with Music Event of the Year for the Josie Awards (an Independent Awards Show). The year of 2022 turned out to be a banner year for Joe and Diane. With the song, “Yours”, they won “Song of The Year” at the Arkansas Country Music Awards along with winning “Vocal Event of the Year” at the Josie Awards! Being compared to country music giants George Jones and Tammy Wynette is one of the highest compliments to be had. There’s is only one way to go from here...and that is UP! So, look out Country Music World….Nashville’s newest duet has arrived!

Ladies and Gentleman…I present to you….JOE AND DIANE!
